<-This was Sophie's design idea. (RL3)(IE4)She created the logo to go into a shield border made of wood with small coloured pebbles glues ontop. Pictures of the pupils in the school years would be displayed on the mosaic. This was a very good idea but it would mean it would have to be changed every year when there's a different year group so it created  inconvenience because it meant we would then have to created removable covers which would be an unnecessary time consumer. We thought that the shield wasn't suitable because that's not what their logo looks like and we don't have the rights to change it.

Sophie thought that grout could be used to stick everything down, and that for each mosaic piece on the logo and red background we would have to cut on the scroll saw which wasn't very practical because again this would also be time consuming.

(RL2)(EP3)(SM2)For this idea we would need:
  • MDF as the wooden border because it has a smooth texture and is relatively inexpensive, readily available, environmentally friendly(IE5)and is available in big flat sheet boards which most woods aren't, we have these at our school.
  • Red tissue paper screwed up into balls for the background, these would be from HobbyCraft or any other craft shops ad red tissue paper is available in most places and they're usually quite cheap.
  • White stones for the background of the logo would be collected from a local beack which means this is environmentally friendly (IE5)and would not cut into our budget.
  • Black and yellow paint to paint the white stones with the writing and images, this will be very easy to buy, we can easily go inot B&Q to get a small tin.
